The vineyards

The quest for every good wine starts in the vineyard. This is the reason why Golan spends so many days amongst the vines. He monitors the growing circle, learns the special needs of each and every vineyard and develops an intimate relationship with the unique terroirs.

Searching for the best of vines for our premium wines led Golan to a long journey through mountains and rivers, and to a rigorous inspection of various soils, different micro-climates, flora and seasonal blooming, until the best suited vineyards for producing quality wine were located.

Flam’s vineyards are planted in the Upper Galilee and the Judean Hills, in the best parcels for growing wine grapes. In all our parcels we insist of a very low yield-acre ratio. The variety of soils of our private vineyard, which Golan oversees personally, contributes to the creation of fierce and intense wines that reflect the renewed tradition of Mediterranean winemaking.

BEN ZIMRA - UPPER GALILEE

The Ben-Zimra Vineyard reaches 730 meters (2395 feet) above sea level, the soils are black volcanic ones and the climate is mostly chilly, even during the summer. When the Zimra Cabernet Sauvignon becomes wine it is mostly characterized with red fruit flavors and a pleasant acidity that creates wines with a fantastic ageing potential.

YEASHAYAHU

In 2011, after many months of pursuit after the perfect site, we finally planted our very own Sauvignon Blanc vineyard. Our goal was to find the best terroir to grow Sauvignon Blanc grapes for our Flam Blanc. Now in its fourth year, the vineyard is grown on a south facing slope, on well drained soils made of limestone and clay. The grapes we harvest are crisp, fruity and fresh, just like our Blanc.

  • Varieties - Sauvignon Blanc

  • Soil - A mixture of limestone and clay

  • Climate- The vineyard's topography creates a unique microclimate of cold night and lower than average day temperatures.

  • Height - 350 m. - 1148 feet
